Chinese New Year 2018

Celebrate a bounteous spring at Mid Valley Megamall! This Chinese New Year, the mall is transformed into a magnificent floral sanctuary in the theme of “Bountiful Blossoms”: thousands of flowers border lattice work inspired by oriental bird cages to signify fortune, wealth and abundance. Themed booths offer everything from festive promotions to trinkets, decorations, stylish apparel and festive delicacies in celebration of the season! Whilst you shop, cultural performances and workshops will delight your senses. The festivities are brought to you exclusively with HSBC until 25th February 2018, only at Mid Valley Megamall.

GARLIC STEAMED PRAWNS

INGREDIENTS

Large prawns - 16 pieces
Garlic - 20 Cloves
Chili Padi - 10 pieces
Shao Xing Wine – 1 tablespoon each prawn
Soy Sauce- 3 tablespoons
Cooking Oil - 4 tablespoons
Scallions – 1 bunch
Salt & Sugar – To taste (Optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

Prepare the raw ingredients:
1. Devein the prawns. Butterfly it after cleaning the prawns. Devein and butterfly cleaned prawns.
2. Mince Garlic – set aside.
3. Chop the scallions and chilies – set aside
4. Heat oil in a frying pan.
5. Pan fry the garlic. Add in soy sauce then fry till fragrant. After that, cook for 1 minute and set aside
6. Arrange prawns on a dish. Drizzle Shao Xing Wine onto each prawn.
7. Place fried garlic on each prawn.
8. Prepare a wok with a steamer tray on top and cover. Bring water to a boil.
9. Place the dish of prawns into the steamer and steam for 10 minutes on high heat.
10. Once done, remove dish and top prawns with chopped scallions and chilies.
11. Heat 6 tablespoons of hot oil until shimmering, and pour over prawns before serving.
12. Garlic Steamed Prawns, ready to bring happiness to the whole family!
